“Orchid & Bamboo” calligraphy, developed from Small Seal Script, which regards orchid leaf as its main script rather then the bamboo leaf, expresses the romantic charm of orchid and bamboo with the symmetry and harmony of Small Seal Script. “Bamboo” calligraphy originated from Official Script, and its main script is bamboo leaf. Though it inherits the horizontal stroke and the width of Official Script, “Bamboo” calligraphy is graceful, stubborn and inspirational like bamboo leaves. In past dynasties, various calligraphers regarded Cang Feng as their first or last stroke. However, nowadays “Orchid & Bamboo” calligraphy starts or ends from Lu Feng, which can make the writing more flexible and more convenient.
