Ma Wenhui, Director of the Intangible Cultural Heritage department of Ministry of Culture, said, “Our intangible cultural heritage is among people.” So far, 53 traditional festivals from 34 nationalities like Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and a great number of programs closely related to traditional festivals like New Year’s painting, paper-cutting, festival lantern and kite making skills have been placed on the national heritage list.
