The painting exhibition of China’s prominent 90-year-old painter Huang Yongyu is now taking place inside the National Museum of China.

The exhibition, consisting of Huang's paintings, calligraphies and sculptures created after 1949, did not have an opening ceremony but will run until September 15.

Known for his distinctive painting style, as demonstrated by his use of striking colors and bold techniques, Huang has displayed many of his scenic paintings completed in Italy, including "The Fountain of Neptune," "Church of San Francesco" and "The former residence of Dante Alighieri."
