Lady’s magenta satin armor embroidered with golden net pattern

 

Guangxu’s reign (1875–1908)

This female armor features a high collar plus large lapel, and is lined with pink cloth. The sides are decorated with embroidered satin ribbons, while the lower part is attached with tassels of colored thread.

Qianlong’s reign (1736–1795)

Length: 137.7 cm; Full length: 229.4 cm; Waist width: 66.2 cm; Lower hem: 93.2 cm

The official ceremonial robe is used exclusively for the ruling class. This particular robe is worn by actors portraying the Heavenly Official in Tiao Jiaguan and Tianguan Cifu, the former being the prelude to an important performance.
