1. From January 25 to February 1, with the cooperation of CICA and the Cape Verde China Friendship Association, the eighth Happy Chinese New Year - Chinese Cultural Week started in Cape Verde. The event was held in the capital city Praia on the island of Santiago, the city Mindelo on the island of São Vicente and the cities of São Filipe and Santa Catarina on the island of Fogo. The event included a series of cultural and artistic activities such as the Chinese New Year Gala, "Belt and Road Initiative" themed exhibitions and forums, a "Study in China" speech, Chinese movie screenings, a football competition, 60-second Chinese shows and Cape Verde's television programs about Chinese cuisine and Cultural Week. From online to offline, these activities were prepared for a long time and have a higher quality than previous years. The other character of this event was that most of the activities are preformed successfully by local art troupes trained by Chinese experts assigned by CICA.

2. From May 8 to 25, CICA called the seventh session of group members via telecommunication due to the COVID-19. The meeting approved the draft amendment of CICA constitution, listed the seventh leaderships and council members and created a council work report in a vote of 43 in favor to 0 against, with 3 abstentions. The meeting also elected Zhang Xu, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in China, as the Director of CICA, and Xie Jinying, the Director of the International Burean in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as Vice Director and Sectary General of CICA.

3. CICA and other 3 institutions were registered at the China Cultural Center in Auckland in New Zealand.
