1. From January 27 to February 21, CICA sent 32 people from the Chinese Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe to Venezuela, Mexico, Panama, Dominica and Honduras to participate in Happy Chinese New Year.

2. Happy Chinese New Year - Charming Beijing took center stage at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills in Los Angeles on January 21. The event was sponsored by CICA, the Beijing Association for Foreign Cultural Exchange and the Beverly Hills City Conference and Tourism Bureau. Local politicians and nearly 1,800 residents attended the activity. Chinese Consul General in Los Angeles, Liu Jian, said that the two years of Happy Chinese New Year - Charming Beijing have left a deep impression on the citizens of Beverly Hills, strengthened cooperation and promoted cultural exchanges between the two countries. The mayor of Beverly Hills also spoke highly of the event at the opening ceremony, and hoped the event could grow to be more wonderful in the future.

3. From February 8 to 9, CICA cooperated with Cape Verde China Friendship Association to jointly host the 4th Happy Chinese New Year - Chinese Cultural Week in Cape Verde and celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Cape Verde.

4. On March 12, Zhang Aiping, Vice President of CICA welcomed five culture contributors composed of Japanese actors, accompanied by Wang Chen, Deputy Secretary-General of CICA and Assistant Director of the Bureau for External Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Culture.

5. From March 13 to 19, at the invitation of the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, CICA sent five people from Ensemble Les Amis Shanghai (ELA), a professional chamber music ensemble, to Copenhagen and Vienna to participate in the PULSAR Festival of contemporary music in Denmark and perform in Vienna.

6. From April 6 to 9, the "International Exchange Project for Chinese Talents of Arts Creation and Arts Management - 4th Master Class on Performing Arts and Marketing" was held by CICA and China Oriental Performing Arts Group Co Ltd in Beijing. Four foreign experts from the US and the UK and domestic experts were invited to carry out lectures, forums, observation and other activities. 109 professionals from all over the country signed up for the class.

7. The 9th China International Youth Arts Festival (CIYAF) opened at the Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on August 12, organized by CICA and the China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd. A concert themed Legacy, Innovation, Youth and the Silk Road featured 42 young singers from twenty countries around the globe. Xie Jinying, Director of the Bureau for External Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Culture, Dong Junxin and Zhang Aiping, Vice Presidents of CICA, leaders of the China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd, Chinese singer Tian Haojiang and some foreign diplomats watched the performance. This year's festival was held with main session in Beijing and parallel ones in nine cities across China such as Shanghai, Guangzhou and Jinan. Spectators could see 187 performances from 36 countries and regions covering musical, drama, dance and opera. The main session also hosted special activities designed for youths, such as the "China and Uzbekistan Youth Cultural Communication Day" and "Youth Cultural Festival of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao".

8. From August 26 to September 1, CICA and the China Cultural Center in South Korea held a training camp in Beijing, themed culture industry for Chinese and South Korean college students. 50 college students from the two countries participated in the training camp and this activity was included in the list of 2016 China-South Korea Joint Committee Cooperation Project.

9. From September 19 to 23, CICA and National Art Museum of China jointly held the 3rd Advanced Seminar on Art Museum Management, inviting domestic and foreign experts to carry out lectures, forums, case studies and other activities.

10. On September 26, Ding Wei, Vice President of CICA and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, met with the 9 people's delegation from Hanayagi Chiyo Dance Studio. In the 1980s, Hanayagi Chiyo and her Dance Studio actively carried out cultural exchanges with China, promoting the relationship between China and Japan with achievements. Ding welcomed the visitors and thanked all Ms. Hanayagi Chiyo's efforts over the decades. He pointed out that although sometimes the relationship between China and Japan could be difficult, the prospect of cultural exchanges is promising. Chiyo is an active advocate and practitioner of the friendship between China and Japan. Ding hoped that she can make new contributions on strengthening the cultural communication and enhancing the friendship between two peoples in the future. Ms. Hanayagi Chiyo said that as close neighbors in Asia, it is the common aspiration of the two peoples to live in friendship and peace. Her and her dance studio were willing to make continuous efforts to promote the understanding and friendship between the two peoples. Zhang Aiping and other Vice Presidents of CICA attended the meeting as well.

11. On September 28, Ding Wei, Vice President of CICA and Vice Minister of Ministry of Culture, met with 30 representatives of Japan's Matsuyama Ballet Troupe.

12. From October 9 to November 4, at the invitation of CICA, Leonard Blusse, a Dutch Sinologist, came to China for visit and academic exchanges, including visiting Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan and Xiamen.

13. From October 10 to 14, CICA, together with the Capital Museum and China Cultural Media Group Co Ltd, jointly held the "International Exchange and Cooperation Project for Chinese Talents of Cultural Management - Advanced Seminar on Handicrafts Design", inviting domestic and foreign experts to carry out lectures, forums and case studies.

14. From November 23 to December 4, at the invitation of the Fundação Oriente and the Cape Verde-China Friendship Association, CICA sent 15 people from China's Sichuan Opera Troupe to Portugal and Cape Verde for the exchange of performance.

15. From November 24 to December 1, at the invitation of the Dutch Culture - Center for International Cooperation and the Cape Verde-China Friendship Association, Wang Chen, Deputy Secretary-General of CICA and Assistant Director of the Bureau for External Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Culture, led a delegation of 3 people from CICA to visit the Netherlands and Cape Verde, participate in the opening ceremony of the Poets of Beijing Visual Arts Exhibition held in the Netherlands and attend the celebration of the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Cape Verde China Friendship Association.

16. From November 25, 2016 to January 8, 2017, CICA co-sponsored the Dutch Culture - Center for International Cooperation and held the Poets of Beijing Visual Arts Exhibition at the Marres House for Contemporary Culture, Maastricht, Netherlands, exhibiting 14 young contemporary Chinese artists' 21 pieces (sets) of paintings, equipment, images and other works.

17. From December 10 to 16, at the invitation of Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Japan, CICA met with a group of six people from one Japanese theater troupe to visit Beijing and Yan'an, Shaanxi province.
