The Mandarin version of the 4K ultra-high definition film showcasing the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of New China was released Saturday and will soon be broadcast in cinemas nationwide, according to China Media Group, one of the producers.

The celebrations, held in Beijing on Oct 1, included a grand gathering, military parade and mass pageant.

The movie will help promote patriotic enthusiasm in Chinese people and encourage them to strive for the new era, said Shen Haixiong, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of China Media Group, at the movie’s premiere in Beijing.

Featuring 4K ultra-high definition and 5.1 surround sound, the film aims to give audience members an immersive experience with improved audiovisuals, according to the group.

Shen added it’s also an important effort to accelerate media convergence backed by advanced technologies such as 5G, 4K or 8K ultra-high definition and artificial intelligence.

The film is also available in six foreign languages – English, Russian, French, Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese – as well as Cantonese and some ethnic languages.

Experts said the project provides an example for all-media transmission of major events.
