Northeast Thailand Chinese Dance Competition held in Thailand

The online award ceremony of the 8th Northeast Thailand Chinese Dance Competition and 9th Campus Chinese Singing Competition was held by the Confucius Institute of Maha Sharakan University in Thailand on April 27. The competition's organizing committee solicited online video works from Jan 25 to Feb 26, and invited expert judges to review the entries.

The dance competition was divided into juvenile group youth groups. A total of 39 works were collected and 224 participants took part in the contest.

Tessaban Wat Weruwan School won first prize in the juvenile group for "Thousand-Hand Kwan-yin", and Borabu School's "Huo Yuanjia" won first prize in the youth group.

The Campus Chinese Singing Competition was divided into kindergarten and primary school groups, a high school group and university group. A total of 86 works were collected and 107 singers participated. Natticha Wrapimrat won first prize in the kindergarten and primary school group for her song, Like You. The first prize in the high school group went to Panuchda Mungdee for her song, Courage, and the first prize in the university group went to Akanat Wirit for his song, Huo Yuanjia.

Fan Tingting, a winning contestant, said after the competition that the dance competition gave her a chance to show dancing skills that few people knew she had. She was really worried about not doing well at first, but with the encouragement of her teachers and friends, she finally overcame her fear and signed up for the competition.
