女工孙丽英的儿子郑大先天失聪，丈夫为此离婚而去，她独自承担起养家和帮助儿子学习说话、入校读书的全部责任。但郑大因发音不清被拒绝入校，同时还要忍受外界的歧视和嘲弄；为了尽快给儿子买到价格不菲的助听器，她辛苦工作，却得不到应有的尊重……在善良的人们帮助下，孙丽英坚强地直面命运，勇敢地和儿子一起逾越了生命的一道道坎坷。

Breaking the Silence
Zheng Da, the son of the female worker Sun Li-ying, is born deaf, which causes her husband to divorce her. She shoulders the whole responsibility of supporting her family and helping her son learn to speak and enter the school. Due to his bad pronunciation, Zheng Da fails to enter into the school and suffers a lot of discrimination and derision from others. In order to buy an expensive hearing aid for her son, Sun Li-ying works hard, but doesn`t receive the respect she deserves. With the help of kind and warm people, Sun Li-ying faces the challenges of life and she and her son successfully overcome the troubles in their life.
