| Zhu Zongqing Percussion Band (网) |
In January 1986, percussionist Zhu Zongqing organized a group of young musicians and formed the first Taiwan Percussion Band. Musicians of the band have received strict training in playing western percussion instruments. They also emphasize on the research and performing of Chinese gong and drum in instruments and various types of oriental music. The band always commissions composers to create new works for them. It has also collaborated with other art groups and individuals in a bid to explore new ways of combining different art forms and displaying the many colorful facets of percussion music.
