Peking Opera Troupe of Gansu Province
The Peking Opera Troupe of Gansu Province was established in 1956, formerly known as the Peking Opera Team of the Culture Troupe attached to the Political Department of the 1st Field Army, which has been founded in 1949.

Since its founding, the troupe has staged some classical operas such as Battle in Wanping City, Silang Visits His Mother, and Chain of Rings, Monarch Xiang Yu's Farewell to His Concubine and Murder in Wulong Yuan. It also created and performed some contemporary plays such as Modern Match-maker, Dawn, Nanchang Revolution Spark, August 1 Storm, The Wilderness and Eulogy of King of Xia. Among them The Wilderness won the prizes for best play and best performance issued by the Ministry of Culture in 1988. Eulogy of King of Xia won the 5th Wenhua Award and 4th Best Minority Play Award in 1994 and the principal actor Chen Lincang won the 12th Plum Blossom Award. The Troupe staged Eulogy of King of Xia and The Wilderness in Taiwan in May 1996 and was warmly received.

Major artists of the Troupe include Chen Yongling, Fei Shiwei, Li Dachun, Xia Rongting, Chen Lincang and Lu Shuqi.
