The Acrobatic Troupe of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was founded in April 1960. The origin of the troupe was Inner Mongolia Acrobatics Group of Song and Dance Ensemble.
Since its establishment, the Troupe has produced a number of acrobatic programs with strong ethnic style and regional characteristics participating in the national or provincial theatrical festivals and acrobatic contests. In the last twenty years, the Troupe has won 12 prizes in the Region, 11 prizes in North China, 6 prizes in the national contests and 9 prizes at International contests. The repertoires includes: "Juijitsu Rolling Lanterns" which won the silver lion prize in 1987 first International Acrobatic Festival in Wuqiao, China, "Four Persons Kicking Bowls,, which won the gold medal in 1990 Thirteenth Tomorrow Acrobatic Festival in Paris ,"Archery" which won gold lion prize in the 1991 Third National Acrobatic Competition, "The Plastic Art with Bow" which won the bronze prize in 1992 the First International Acrobatic festival in Wuhan, China, "Juggling with the Feet by Three Persons which won the silver prize in the 1992 Fourth International Acrobatic Festival in Wuqiao and the bronze prize on the International Acrobatic and Circles Festival in Milan, Italy, "Balance on the Double Planks which won the silver prize in the 1997 Sixth International Acrobatic Festival in wuqiao, China. "Rolling Lanterns by Two persons", "Archery" which won the silver and bronze prizes in the 1998 Third National Juvenile Acrobatic Contest, "Ring Acrobatic" which won the bronze prize in November, 1996 Whole Country Magic Contest.
Since 1988, the Acrobatic Troupe has made in guest performances for nearly thirty times to the countries and the regions of Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia, contributing to the extension of the external cultural exchanges and the promotion of the friendships between the peoples of different counties.
