Quyi Art Troupe of Shanxi Province
The Quyi Art Troupe of Shanxi Province was founded in June 1959. The Quyi Troupe has won several prizes in national Quyi competitions. For instance, in the National New Quyi Performance Competition (1986), both cross talk "Blooming flowers and Full Moon and Shandong clapper ballad "A Fussy Grandma won the Creation Award and performing Award. In the "JingYang Mound Cup" Shandong Clapper Ballad Radio Competition held in the same year, "Marriage of a Swineherd won the Gold Prize. In the "Mountain and River Cup Quyi Competition co-sponsored by Shandong, Hebei, Shanxi and Henan provinces, crosstalk Talking about Homeland", clapper ballad "Adventure" and four other performances won the Creation Awards and "Mountain and River Cup Awards for Performing. In 1992, the comic skit "Between the True and the False was awarded the First prize in the National Quyi Short Play Competition. In the National Quyi Ballad Competition in Oct. the same year, Shandong clapper ballad "Sale of Dumpling", clapper ballad "Outsmarting Oneself won the first and Second prizes respectively. In 1993, cross talk "More about Xiao Erhei's Marriage won the "Gold Rose" Award in the First National Cross Talk Festival In the 1997 National Ballad Competition; rhythmic story tel1ing to clapper accompaniment "Believe It or Not" was awarded the first prize for creation and second prize for performing.

Currently major artists of the Troupe include Liu Peian (second grade artist, representative work: rhythmic story telling to clapper accompaniment "Believe It or Not Ma Xiaoping (second grade artist, representative work: cross talk "March of Bachelors") and Wang Zhaolin (second grade artist, representative work: cross talk "March of Bachelors").
