The Cultural Relics Publishing House (CRPH), established in 1956,is a press house under the State Bureau of Cultural Relics.

Duties and tasks: To publicize China's Cultural heritage, relics work and archeological achievements; to publish pictures and lists of significant relics stored in domestic museums and key relics protection institutions, archeological reports, unearthed documents and materials, related research or translated works, copies of ancient paintings, tablets and precious books, teaching materials for archaeology and dictionaries and reference books related to relics and archeology; and to publish the manuscripts, memorial collections, histories and pictures of revolutionaries and literati, as well as books publicizing relics and archeological knowledge. Establishment: CRPH includes the office of the Editor in Chief, theNo.1 Editorial Office, No.2 Editorial Office, No.3 Editorial Office, Editorial Department of Art Collections, the Periodicals Editorial Department, the Editorial Office for Relics, the Publishing Department, Distribution Department, Audio and Video Department, Photography Department, Management Department, Foreign Cooperation Department, Data Office and shops.

Major achievements: Since 1978, some 26 titles published by CRPH have won prizes. They includeCollection of Chinese Art, Art and Handicrafts, Jade Articles; Chinese Grottoes: Kezier Grotto; Archeological Discoveries and Research in New China; Liuwan in Qinghai; Tomb of the warring States Period (475-221 BC) at Yutai Mountain in Jiangling; and Archeology of Shops.
