The China Cultural Relics Exchange Center, founded in 1971, is a relics exchange and service institution under the State Bureau of Cultural Relics.
Duties and tasks: To arrange cooperation and aid relics departments in hosting relics exhibitions abroad (including exhibitions in Taiwan); to organize and oversee the manufacture of relics copies, to arrange the reproduction of rare relics and to arrange for the exhibition of reproductions abroad; to produce and trade in video materials concerning relics; to aid related departments in organizing relics investigation activities; to employ experts in publicizing relics and to provide consultative services.
Establishment: The center includes a General Office, Exhibition Department, Liaison Department and Video Production Department.
Major achievements: Since 1978, the center has organized nearly 50 exhibitions in more than 20 countries and territories in Asia, Europe and the Americas, receiving 1,600 plus visitors and making US86 million for the state.
