The China international Cultural Tourism Agency (ICTA) was established in 1988.
Major tasks: To receive foreign tour groups or individuals; to arrange folk Culture tourism activities and organize visitor participation in the festival activities of the ethnic minorities; to receive artistic organizations and individuals from abroad that are to present performances, conduct Cultural exchanges or hold exhibitions in China and to organize domestic artistic organizations and individuals take part in performances, exhibitions or Cultural exchanges in other countries; to organize Chinese Cultural tours during vacations for both domestic and foreign students and to provide short or long-term Cultural and artistic training courses; to receive foreign Cultural and artistic organizations or experts and celebrities visiting China and to organize discussions on academic issues with Chinese counterparts; to provide eco-tourism services and to open special eco-tourism routes and train specialized eco-tourism guides.
Establishment: The agency includes the General Manager's office, General office, and international, Japan, overseas, Domestic, Performance and Exhibition, Artistic Training and Market Development departments.
