The 2012 Dance Festival of the NCPA kicked off at National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. More than 2000 people attended the opening ceremony. Grand dance drama The Peacock, as the opening performance of the festival and Yang Liping's latest masterpiece, attracted great attention.
The NCPA always focuses on high-quality performances, such as its opera festival and May music festival. Zhao Ruheng, Artistic Director of Dance of the NCPA, said that the NCPA is trying to bring new and fresh dance style to Chinese audience. Besides, the NCPA also cooperates with famous dance institutions in the UK in artistic creation.
