The Inner Mongolian Culture Week kicked off in Ulan Bator on September 18 with a series of art performances, exhibitions and forums on media and literature, featuring the Chinese autonomous region's development achievements in various fields.
The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Mongolia shared a long history of friendly exchanges, Ulan, member of Inner Mongolia's party committee, said at the opening ceremony in the Mongolian National Modern Arts Gallery.
The culture week, part of Chinese Culture Month, could serve to foster political mutual trust, boost economic cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and Mongolia, she added.
Mongolian Culture, Sport and Tourism Minister Ts. Oyungerel voiced the hope that the culture week could promote cultural exchanges and further deepen friendly ties between the two neighbors.
The event attracted some 1,000 Mongolian audiences on its first day.
