Changli to hold International Wine Festival

The 13th Changli International Wine Festival will be held during August 23-26 in Changli County of Qinhuangdao in Hebei province. At the same time the 3rd grand ceremony to celebrate Chinese Valentine's Day - Qixi Festival will be held.

In the ceremony, there will be singing and dancing performances, as well as situation comedies, interesting games, and interactive activities with audiences to celebrate the romantic Qixi Festival.

Moreover, the wine festival this year will hold summit forums on the development of the vintage industry, a quality competition among different vintage production bases around the world, wine promotion activities, an award ceremony, and an auction.

Changli, nestling at the foot of the Yanshan Mountain, is located 39 degrees north latitude, the same as Bordeaux in France. With adequate sunshine, and large temperature differences between day and night, it is very suitable for growing grapes, thus winning the title, "Bordeaux in China".

Changli in the city of Qinhuangdao has a history of planting grapes and brewing wines for more than 400 years. The output of its vintages accounts for one third of the gross output in China, and its export volume tops the country, selling to over 20 countries and regions, such as Britain, France, Germany and the USA.
