China will launch another show of its creative muscles this December in a move to inspire innovation in its design community and display the close connections between design and life, said a cultural official on May 30.

This year’s China Design Exhibition, called Times﹒Creation, consists of main and peripheral exhibitions as well as a series of academic events. The main exhibition will include graphic design, product design, space design and crossover design.

The organizers are now preparing for the collection of entries, including design works or projects by Chinese companies, studios, design colleges and individual designers. Entries will be collected from May 30 until September 31.

China Design Exhibition was initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2008. As globalization continues to spread across the world, demands for creative design professionals surge and design has become a crucial element in the booming creative industry. Design has infused every corner of life and changed public lifestyle and tastes.

The show, running from December 7 to February 26, will bring together the best contemporary design works in China and is expected to help guarantee sustained growth well into the future.
