A group of artists from Central China's Henan province will give performances in Havana at the end of January, the Cuban National Council of Performing Arts announced Friday.

The show, titled "Chinese Springs", will take place on Jan 29 and 30 in the Mella Theater, one of the main theaters in the Cuban capital.

The artistic program will include demonstrations of Kung Fu, acrobatics and music as part of Havana's celebrations for the Chinese New Year. The program includes some typical songs and dances from Henan to show China's cultural diversity.

Henan boasts many luminaries, such as Du Fu, one of the country's best-known poets, and Han Yu, one of the literary masters of the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

Last October, the famous Chinese pianist Lang Lang performed in Havana with his Cuban counterpart, Chucho Valdez.

'Happy Chinese New Year' is a worldwide activity for celebrating the traditional Chinese Spring Festival. In its seventh year, over 2,100 cultural activities will be held in over 400 cities across more than 140 countries and regions worldwide.
