The Chongqing International Lamp Decoration Festival will kick off in Chongqing starting on Lunar New Year's Eve. People there can enjoy a free temple fair and see some spectacular decorations.

The theme this year is "Flying dragon and colorful Nanbin." And the highlight will be the use of cutting-edge laser technology to display auspicious animals and symbols, garanteeing a lucky start for the Year of the Dragon.

A Spring Festival Temple Fair will also be held during the national holiday for people to taste local Chongqing food, and watch traditional dragon dances.

The event will conclude with the arrival of the Lantern Festival, which is on the 15th day of the first month of the lunar calendar.
