Electro dance invented by young people from Ile-de-France between 14 and 20 years old was born in the year 2000 during nightclub parties in Paris and suburbs (Red-light, Mix Club, and Metropolis in Rungis). As an urban dance, electro is adapted to electro house music rhythms, between hardteck music from northern European countries like Belgium, Netherlands or Germany and techno genre from Italy. But it’s the liberty to create one’s own footsteps that characterizes electro dance above all.

Electro Dance expanded all around the world and a first edition of the world electro dances championship appeared in January 2000! There are about 15000 electro dancers in France, even if Paris is the heart of the movement concentration with near 10 000 of them. This type of dance is constantly evolving since its recent creation and integrating aesthetical, technical and musical details. Today Blanca Li puts electro dance away from pure performance in order to install it on a theatre scene, through a contemporaneous choreographic project.
