The Chinese keep health in Major Snow in their own ways. The following are some examples.

First, keep warm.

In the eyes of Chinese, the winter belongs to the Yin. Thus, in this season, it’s important to protect the yin and release less liquid from the body. In winter, Chinese do their best to avoid the cold and keep warm. It is necessary to prevent the invasion of the cold, while overly warm conditions should also be avoided. They will not wear too many thick clothes, or breathe too much warm air.

Second, keep the feet in good condition.

Feet should be kept clean and dry. The socks will be changed frequently and washed. The Chinese wash their feet in warm water every day, massage and stimulate the acupuncture points. To exercise the feet, more than a half hour walk should be insisted upon. In addition, a pair of comfortable, warm, light shoes is important. Third, drink more.

Although perspiration decreases in the winter, the brain and body need the nourishing of water to ensure normal metabolism. Daily replenishment of water is necessary.

Fourth, regulate the mood.

The winter is depressing. The best way to change one’s depressed mood is to do exercises, such as jogging, dance, skating, and playing with one’s balls.

Fifth, ventilate the room.

In the winter, indoor air pollution is ten times more serious than that of the outdoors. Therefore, one’s door and windows should be opened frequently to clear the air and refresh oneself.
