The traditional tunes include 'Zhoushan Drum and Gong', 'Preface ofEight Immortals', 'Happy Fishing Family', 'Shadiao' and 'Sound of the Tide', which have been listed in the Chinese Folk Instrumental Music Collection.

Since the 1960s and 1970s, with the development of the market economy and the variation of entertainment, drum and gong music gradually disappeared from every day life. Old musicians passed away and practitioners quit. It needs to be rescued from extinction.
