Plate Dance

The Plate Dance originated in ancient Kucha and is popular in Urumqi, Ili, Kashi and other cities and towns. The dancer puts a bowl on his head and uses a small chopstick to drum a small plate in his hand while performing various movements. The steps are basic Sanam variations. The dancer holds his arms horizontally or one hand is placed on his head or at his side with the other on his chest.
