Nanjing has hosted the dance drama "The Flowers Of War" as one of the national memorial activities to commemorate the 1937 Nanjing Massacre.
After watching the drama, many Nanjing residents expressed a feeling of shock, and said that the drama reflected the "glory of humanity" during the war.
The performance tells the story of young prostitutes who were seeking shelter in a church when Japanese invaders entered and forced female students, who were also in the church, to go to their camps. The "thirteen beauties" dressed up as the students to save their lives.
On December 13, 1937, Japanese invaders massacred many residents of the ancient capital.
