"The best. I did five movies with her. She's the best I've ever seen, the best I’ve ever worked with and it’s not because she’s my mother. She's just fantastic," Cassavetes says.

Rowlands herself expressed her gratitude for the ceremony and celebration. She highlighted how she was just happy that she didn't get stuck in the process.

"Well, I have never put my feet in cement before. I would have avoided had I thought I would get stuck in it. But I didn't. And there were a lot of people who promised they would help pull me out if I did. It was a funny thing to do and an interesting thing. I hope maybe my grandchildren come by sometime and say, 'hey, that was my great-grandmother. What big feet she had.' But it's just fun," she says.

Rowlands also had a lot to say about dancing and the positive message of her latest film, Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks.

"I think that the picture shows no matter what you feel your prejudices are or what you feel you do right and other people do wrong, that there's so much love in this world that you can come together in understanding and make wonderful friendships," she says.

Rowlands's imprints will join elite company indeed at the TCL Chinese Theater Imax. Since 1927, major stars from different eras of Hollywood have received the honor of leaving their hand and footprints for fans, tourists, and people from all over the world to see at the heart of Hollywood Boulevard. True to the spirit of her tireless co-honorees, Rowlands had her own simple explanation for why she just can’t stop working.

"Well, I don't know how much longer I will keep on, but every time I say I'm retired, someone offers me an interesting script," Rowlands says.

Now that Rowlands has left her permanent mark in Hollywood, she won’t be taking a break anytime soon. With loving family both inside and outside of the film world, it’s clear that they’ll stay by her side as the cameras keep rolling.
