2013 Turkish cultural year in China: Visual Art Exhibition launches

Caner Karavit, headmaster of the Turkish Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

The Turkish Visual Art Exhibition, co-hosted by the China Ministry of Culture and the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and jointly organized by China Arts & Entertainment Group, China Central Academy of Fine Arts and Turkish Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, kicked off at the art gallery at the Central Academy of Fine Arts on Dec. 24, 2013. The exhibition will run through the middle of Feb. 2014.

The exhibition features almost 200 pieces of art from Turkish contemporary artists, covering various categories including painting, sculpture, pottery, animation, photography, multi-media, art design, archeology design, and stage art. The exhibition also includes several traditional art creation forms such as decoration painting, carpet making, Turkish calligraphy, tilling art, book binding, and was really a concentrated display of the Turkish contemporary art, which will help Chinese visitors understand Turkish visual art more directly and feel their cultural more thoroughly, while also playing a significant role in improving interactions between the two countries.
