“Peony” is known as “the first contemporary dance drama with oriental verve, performed exclusively by beautiful women dancers”.
After its debut in Beijing and Shanghai, the original Chinese dance drama “Peony” came back to Beijing with much praise. It was staged on Sept 2 and 3, 2011 in Poly Theatre.
The Beauty of “Peony”
On the evening of September 2, the Art Performance in Celebration of American Labor Day was held in Poly Theatre under the support of the Association for the Promotion of International Trade (US).
A large number of foreign friends got together to appreciate the beauty of “Peony”. They came from Fortune 500 companies, mainstream international media and overseas diplomatic, cultural and business institutions in China.
In appreciation of the support from all circles of society, the producer provided “The Chinese Tea Ceremony of the Song Dynasty (960-1279)” and Guqin (seven-stringed plucked instrument invented by the ancient Chinese) performances, which served as a prelude to “Peony” and demonstrated the cultural heritage in China to the audience.
