Moscow Circus’s Show Storm in Beijing

On August 14th and 15th, the Moscow Circus held a circus feast with more than 30 animal stars at Beijing Workers’ Stadium. With experienced equestrian acrobats and splendid performance, the Moscow Circus gave audiences a chance to experience one of the crown jewels of Russia’s rich cultural heritage.

Circus Feast with All-star Lineup

It was the first time to have 13 tigers on one stage in Beijing, 3 of which had won special awards at the Monte Carlo Circus Festival. Audiences enjoyed both their ferocious performance and impressed by their tameness. They not only showed their strengths jumping through Double Rings of Fire and Bunny Hopping, but also amused the audiences by their obedient behavior towards the trainer, like poppet in a kindergarten.

There was also a special guest in this show—a Liger. When it was sitting, it was the same as a tiger; but when it stood up, it became a lion with all head hairs stretched in an extraordinary king-like style.

Four bears rode bicycles on the stage with lovely girls on the backseat. Their proud and satisfied appearance amused the audience.

There was a special program for the kids, too. Some lovely poodles played a catching game with the trainer. A big poodle at the front protected small ones behind, just like a hen protecting its little chicks. Children couldn’t help bursting into laughter at its busy and worried behavior.

In order to ensure the success of show, all the scene sets and acoustic apparatus were airlifted from Moscow to Beijing. Mr. Vichslav, deputy head of the circus, said the Moscow Circus paid much attention to this show in Beijing and it was significant for the Circus to open the Chinese circus market. Therefore, they set strict requirements for the site, lights and security facilities to enable the audience to enjoy the show safe and sound.

The Moscow Circus will travel different cities around China and is co-supported by Beijing All Media and Culture Group (BAMC) and Beijing Beizhan Performing Arts Co., Ltd.
