December 20th marked the 15th anniversary of the city's return to China, as well as the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR). To commemorate this important milestone, Macao's postal service has published a collection of special stamps.

The stamp collection is titled "The 15th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region," and went on sale at 9 am Saturday. The cover of the collection features famous scenes from Macao's cultural heritage, like the Ruins of St. Pauls Cathedral and the Lotus flower.

Hundreds of residents from Macao and the Chinese mainland waited outside the Macao General Post Office for the sale to begin.

Meanwhile, Macao Post released a collection of commemorative stamps on the same day to mark 15th Anniversary of the People's Liberation Army Garrison stationed in Macao. This issue consists of six stamps.

200,000 sets of this collection were released to the public, making this the third time that Macao Post has issued stamps honoring the People's Liberation Army Macao Garrison.
