Beijing Liulichang auction house to reopen

The opening ceremony of an exhibition of the 2014 Beijing•China Art International Fair was held at Liulichang Thursday morning. The earliest auction house of Beijing, Liulichang will gradually be put into use again.

The event will exhibit hundreds of masterpieces by Qi Baishi and most of these works will be seen by the public for the first time. Besides exhibitions, several art works seminars and lectures will be held.

Previously, Liulichang, was a flourishing cultural center and ran an auction business during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). In the future, this place will continue to sell cultural relics. The exhibition will run until Nov 30 and the art works exchange fair will end on Nov 23.
