This vase is widely recognized as one of the master works produced in the Yuan Dynasty. In comparison to others produced in the same age, it has a much more balanced visual depth and motif. Against the background of its blue-glazed body, the white dragon makes for strong visual richness.

The Ming Dynasty saw an extraordinary period of innovation in ceramics manufacturing. Kilns investigated new techniques in design and shape, showing a predilection for color and painted design, and an open-minded attitude toward foreign forms.
This pot has three dragons decorating its pure body. Its mouth is shaped like a flying baby dragon, the cap is adorned with a crouching dragon, and the third dragon is hunched over, interestingly enough, to become the handle of the pot.
