The Eight-layer Treasure Cases of Buddhist Relics

Undecorated Silver Case

Sixth Layer: Undecorated Silver Case

It has no sculpting patterns and no decoration, and was simply tied up with a yellow ribbon when unearthed. The cover and body are jointed with a gemel at the back. The case was considered the most extraordinary of the all eight.

Gold-plating Four Buddha Kings Decorated Silver Case

Seventh Layer: Gold-plating Four Buddha Kings Decorated Silver Case

The silver case is locked with a gold lock, plugged with a gold key, and tied up also in a 50 mm wide yellow ribbon. On four sides of the case are the figures of four Buddha Kings-- Dhritarastra, Vidradhaka, Virapaksa and Vaisramana.
