Chen Shu's performance in the TV series Iron Pear highlights her ability to portray a wide range of characters.

She plays an actress during the 1980s in the TV series Theater, by renowned playwright Yan Geling, which will be broadcast soon.

"The role is like a mirror to me, giving me a chance to look at myself as an actress," she says.

Among all the virtues, I think being kindhearted is the most basic one.   

Your heroes in real life?

Cate Blanchett. She has a good balance between career and life.

If you could talk to a late master of your field, who would it be?

I want to talk to the late film director Xie Jin, not only because I love his movies but also because I hope he could give me some suggestions about my acting.

If there is one thing you could change about yourself, what would it be?

I want to learn to cook because I want to make delicious dishes for my family.

If not yourself, who would you be?

I don't know what other job I would do if I was not an actress. But I know that no matter what I did, I would be good in that field.
