Tibetans in traditional clothing and holding hada－a scarf-like white silk for blessings－celebrate the opening of a 117-km highway linking Medog, the last roadless county in China, with neighboring Bome county in the Tibet autonomous region on Thursday. Construction of the highway, which cost 950 million yuan ($155 million), started in April 2009.
