Macao's visitor arrivals in August rose 7.1 percent from a year ago to reach 2,871,088, according to figures released on Monday by the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Analyzed by place of residence, visitors from the Chinese mainland jumped 15.1 percent year on year to 1.88 million, accounting for 65.5 percent of the total.
Visitors from Republic of Korea (48,395) added slightly by 0.7 percent, while those from Hong Kong (646,301), Taiwan (98,647) and Indonesia (31,012) fell by 4.5 percent, 7.2 percent and 1.7 percent, respectively.
The city received a total of 19,578,498 visitors in the first eight months of 2013, up 4.7 percent year on year, according to the DSEC.
