New Zealand's capital Wellington ushered in its annual Christmas season with celebratory events on Nov 25-26. The two-day festival featured a grand Santa parade in which nearly 200 performers participated, attracting over 20,000 people packing the Lambton Quay to watch. Under the invitation of the city government of Wellington, a delegation from the China Cultural Center in New Zealand joined the celebratory event for the first time, adding Chinese elements into the Western-style festival.
