Chinese Cultural Minister Luo Shugang visited the China Cultural Center in Cairo on August 8.

Luo inspected the infrastructure of the cultural center, including language labs, the multi-functional hall, the standing exhibition hall "Chinese Cabin", the library and the office area. He was told of the main features and achievements of the center as well as current problems and highlighted preparation work for the 2016 Sino-Egyptian Cultural Year.

As special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Luo also attended the completion ceremony of the new Suez Canal, and met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Egyptian Culture Minister Abdel-Wahed El-Nabawi during his visit, signing a cooperation plan and memorandum of understanding for next year’s cultural year.
