Federation of University Sport of China

 

Federation of University Sport of China (FUSC), the only national organization for university sports, was established in 1975. Its headquarters is in Beijing. It is a member of the All-China Sports Federation. In 1975, the International University Sports Federation formally accepted the FUSC as a member.

Tasks of the FUSC are:

* to popularize national sports policy among college students;

* to seek supports to the university sports;

* to approve the establishment of FUSC branches and their activities;

* to assist organizing all kinds of national collegiate sports events;

* to promote exchanges with university sports associations all over the world;

* to assist participating in international collegiate sports event and sports exchanges.

Under the federation there are the National Congress of the FUSC Representatives, the Secretariat, the Teaching Committee, the Training Committee, the Competition Committee, and the Research Committee. Besides, the FUSC has 15 branches -- Track and Field, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Rugby, Badminton, Handball, Tennis, Fencing, Aerobic and Eurhythmics, Chess, Swimming, Traditional Ethnic Sports, and Defense Sports.
