It is the second time China has held Tibet-themed cultural activities in Canada and the culture week aims to offer Canadian people a glimpse of Tibetan scenery, culture and economic development. Dorje Tsedrub, vice chairman of the people's government of the Tibet autonomous region, said that Tibetan Culture Week would promote Canadians’ understanding of Tibet and deepen the friendship between China and Canada.

Culture week is co-hosted by the State Council Information Office of the People’s Republic of China, People’s Government of Tibet autonomous region, and consulate-general of the People’s Republic of China in Vancouver.
