WANG Quan’an  
 

Born in 1965, director WANG Quan’an is part of the new film-making current in mainland China. Unlike his contemporaries, WANG’s films focus on rural life in China. After drama studies at the Beijing Film Academy, he worked for the Xi’an Film Production Studios. Among others, WANG directed the popular opera Niandai for television and feature length films Lunar Eclipse, The Story of Ermei, Tuya’s Marriage (which won the Golden Bear at the 2007 Berlin Film Festival, and Weaving Girl.
