Love Story by the Yellow River In WWII, Anjie, a woman surgeon and other Chinese Eighth Route Army soldiers rescue a US pilot called Owen. For the safety of Owen, who comes to help the Chinese against Japanese invaders and carries important military films, a number of soldiers in the Eighth Route Army as well as Chinese civilians sacrifice their lives heroically; Anjie gives her pure body to the Yellow River with her deep love to Owen and a great longing for the happy days to come. Half a century passes, when Owen comes back to the Yellow River, looking back on those Chinese who have sacrificed their lives for him...
