Zuo's Commentary on Spring and Autumn Annals

 

Zuo Zhuan(Zuo's Commentary on Spring and Autumn Annals) is a famous historical book recording the history of the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476BC), and is one of the three commentaries to the book ofChunqiu(Spring and Autumn Annals).

It was said thatZuo Zhuanwas written by Zuo Qiuming in the LuState at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, but the actual compiling time was the mid Warring States Period (475-221BC). Professional historiographers inthe Spring and Autumn Period wrote the outlines for the historical events with compact words, and the book ofChun Qiuis one of them.
