Yu Rizhang

 

Yu Rizhang (1882-1936), a native ofHubeiProvince, was a famous Christian leader and an activist inChina.

He was born into a priest family of Christian Protestant EpiscopalChurch and received good western education. In 1908, he got master's degree in theUnited States. After he came back toChina, he took the post of director of national combined speech department of Chinese Youth Christianism. In 1917, he became the vice director of the China Continuation Committee. During 1918 to 1930, he was the general secretary of the National Association of Chinese Youth Christianism. In 1936, he died inShanghai.
