Xie Hongji

 

Xie Hongji (1873-1916) was a famous Christian translator and writer in modernChina.

He was born inCixi,ZhejiangProvince and his father was a priest in Christian presbytery. After he graduated from university he served as a professor in theChina-westCollege inShanghai. He often went to churches to do missionary work. His translations and works includeNotation of the Old Testament,Christianityand Scienceand so on. Many of his works still serve as reference materials for researchers. Moreover, he had ever compiled several reference books.
