Qianshan Wuliang Taoist Temple

The Qianshan Wuliang Taoist Temple is situated on the famous scenic spot Qianshan Mountain of Anshan City in Northeast China's Liaoning Province, and it has been listed as one of the national key Taoist temples by the State Council.

Qianshan Mountain, originally known as Qianhua Mountain, is one of the top three famous mountains in Northeast China. Qianshan Mountain has been the Holy Land for Taoism and Buddhism for a long time. In addition to Taoist temples, there are many temples and monasteries here.

Since Taoist Liu Tailin established the first Taoist temple, i.e. the Wuliang Taoist Temple, here in 1667, Qianshan Mountain has become the Holy Land of Taoism. The Wuliang Taoist Temple mainly includes the Laojun Hall, the Sanguan Hall, the Kwan-yin Hall and many pavilions. The layout of these buildings is well organized, and features the typical temple style of Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911). Each building in the Wuliang Taoist Temple has its own features, including exquisite paintings and sculptures. The most famous buildings among them are the Xige Pavilion and the Yuhuang Pavilion. The Xige Pavilion is a famous building and scenic spot of Qianshan Mountain, and there are some frescoes in it. The Yuhuang Pavilion is where the name of the temple came from, as no any beam (Liang) was used to construct the pavilion, hence the Wuliang (no beam) Taoist Temple (China's ancient buildings adopted timbers to make beams). In addition, the Wuliang Taoist Temple boasts scenic spots related to stones, pines and sky, all making people feel relaxed and happy.
