The Chinese Gymnastics Association (CGA) was founded in 1954. Its headquarters is in Beijing. The CGA is a member of the All-China Sports Federation and the International Gymnastics Federation.

Tasks of the CGA are:

* to increase the popularity of the gymnastics;

* to promote friendships between the Chinese people and peoples all over the world;

* to work out development plan of the gymnastic sport in China;

* to organize training for coaches, judges and researchers;

* to assist organizing national and international competitions;

* to select and recommend athletes and coaches to participate in major international games;

* to approve rules on the gymnastic games.

There are National Committee, Secretariat, Judges Committee, Research Committee, Eurhythmies Committee, and Social Activity Committee under the CGA.
