The Chinese Boxing Association (CBA), a national non-government nonprofit organization based in Beijing, was founded in April 1987. It is a member the All-China Sports Federation. In June 1987, the Chinese Boxing Association became a formal member of the International Amateur Boxing Association.
Major tasks of the association are:
* to organize national and international competitions;
* to set up a national training system;
* to select and recommend players for the national boxing team;
* to organize research programs;
* to study and formulate rules of boxing competitions.
The CBA has the National Committee, the Standing Committee, the Secretariat, the Coaches Committee, the Judges Committee, the Medical Committee, the Research Committee, the Equipment Committee and the Publicity Committee under it.
